Debussy - a lovely piece to listen to. At video 2:38, 2:55 - 2:59 what do you call what she is doing? is she silencing/ toning down the vibration of the harp with her finger/ hand???

Yes, it's called muffling or damping, and stops the sound of those strings so others can be heard more clearly.

Fascinating to watch her hands - such lovely long fingers. I'm trying to emulate the way really good harpists open and close their hands to produce such lovely sounds and the more I watch various people the more I'm starting to see. Marilyn, thanks for having this idea - these people are so inspiring to watch.

I like the romantic composers on the harp...the music suits the harp better than the classical period somehow. This girl has such lovely quiet hands. I wish some of the vids looked at the other side so I could see the right.
