The student recordings, both audio in the early days, and now, increasingly video, are recorded in lessons and sometimes at recitals. They are very informal, but a nice record of the work students have done, and a very important resource for learners. By listening to the pieces you are going to learn to play, you'll have a big head-start when it comes to learning the notes and fingering.
